The Financial times have released a new 15 minute documentary which explores the dwindling Chinese economy and the effect it may soon have on the world.
The short film, narrated by FT’s Asia editor Jamil Anderlini examines how the seemingly limitless wave of cheap labour that helped propel the extraordinary boom in its economy since the 1980s is coming to an end. It features the real life stories of those who have been affected by the slowing economy as businesses seek alternatives to rising costs and migrant workers move back home.
The film has a lot of heart for those affected, and it reveals that times are certainly changing for the people of China.
