Play a Game of Tennis at Edgewood Courts

A great thing to do in Lakeland is to play a game of tennis. The Beerman Family Tennis Center, located across from the Cleveland Heights Golf Course, is the best place to play. This beautiful tennis center is a point of pride in Lakeland, as it has 16 well-lit tennis courts plus three racquetball courts.

If you want to work on your technique, there are group lessons available offered for beginners and intermediates so you can refine your skills.

Feed the Ducks at Lake Morton

Down on the southern edge of downtown, you will find a quiet retreat where swans glide across the water and local artists sit and sketch their surroundings.

Your kids will love it when the ducks waddle or swim over and gobble up the tasty treats. This sort of simple and wholesome fun will entertain small children for quite some time.

While you are here, you can check out the Lakeland Public Library and the Polk Museum of Art, both next to the Lake. It’s also only a short walk to the Downtown Antiques District where you can pick up a beautiful treasure to bring home with you.

In downtown Lakeland every Wednesday and Saturday you can check out the local Farmer’s Market, which has a wide array of wonderful treats and treasures from homemade food to locally grown produce to art and handicrafts.

This is a great place to find a gift for a friend or to bring home that perfect souvenir. If you don’t feel like buying anything, it’s also fun to walk around and chat with the vendors to find out more about their lives and their products.
