When I went home in the Philippines last year, I had been curious about the immensely popular weekly Salcedo Market. There were just something about the prospect of stumbling into good eateries and fare that appealed to me. Nkt being a morning person though, I found it hard to drag myself out of bed on a saturday morning. But after I finally managed to do so, I discovered that it was well worth the effort. The market is more than a showcase of the Filipino dishes; it also offers curious visitors a taste of the world! The swirl of different aromas, the myriad of dishes and tastes to discover and the people around contribute to making the Salcedo market a melting pot of what can be described as a universal culture: a common love for good food!
